Plans are already in progress for next year’s camping season.  The 2010 Camping Summer Season will bring many changes to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation.  Here you will be able to find all the latest plans and updates as they are being made.  Here are just a few of the some of the exciting changes or 2010.

  • Cub Scout Resident Camp
    • We will be offering Cub Resident Camp twice this summer.  The first session will be July 28 - 30, 2010.  The second session will be July 30 - August 1, 2010
  • Brand New for 2010 - A Climbing Tower
    • We are building a climbing tower that will be completed by summer camp.  We will be offering the Climbing merit badge.  The tower will also be open during open program.
  • Older Boy Program
    • This year we will continue the very popular Boots and Paddles programmng opportunity for older boys.  Scouts will have the opportunity to spend two days and nights on the Appalachian Trail and two day kayaking on the Schuylkill River.  The cost for this program will be $370 per Scout.
  • Revisions to Boy Scout program
    • We are planning adding some new merit badges.  We will keep you informed as soon as plans are finished.
  • CPR Training & First Aid Training
    • We will be offering CPR training one night every week and First Aid training on night every week.  There will be a minimal charge for the training and pre-signup will be required.

The summer of 2010 promises to be one of the very best at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation.  Many key staff members are returning and we are very excited about the upcoming year.

Yours in Scouting,
Sally Trump
Reservation Director
